Friday 11 September 2026 Our first full week in Nursery! What a fantastic first full week we've had in Nursery! All of the children are settling well into the rules and routines of our classroom. We have enjoyed getting to know each other and the adults who help us in nursery. We have read 'All about Nursery', which talks about starting nursery and what we need. We have enjoyed choosing in the classroom and exploring our learning environment.

Friday 11 September 2026 Rights Respecting Officers 2026-2027 At the beginning of every academic year, each class across school takes part in our Rights Respecting Officer elections. This gives our children the opportunity to put themselves forward for an important role and have their voices heard.

Thursday 10 September 2026 Super Sound! This week, Year Four began their unit on Sound in Science lessons. The children discussed different things they could hear around them and the importance of hearing as one of their five senses. They then investigated how different instruments, such as glockenspiels, maracas, drums, tambourines, guitars and triangles, produce sound. Once they had done this, their next challenge was to investigate how to change the pitch. The children had lots of fun producing high and low sounds. What a noisy start to the term!

Thursday 10 September 2026 Perfecting our place value The children have been working hard with their place value skills. We have revisited what the boys and girls already knew from Year 1 and Year 2, then moved onto hundreds, tens and ones.

Thursday 10 September 2026 Count, play and learn! This term we are focusing on learning how to count and learn numbers up to 10. We have been playing lots of maths games to help develop our counting skills.

Thursday 10 September 2026 Improving our School Environment Over the summer, a lot of work has been undertaken as part of our continual building development. From the first day of the holiday until the very last, a range of projects were implemented with a focus on making the Harlow Green environment the best that it can be for our community. We are proud of having a place where children can access such high-quality and well-resources spaces because it is what each and everyone one of them deserves.

Monday 7 September 2026 Family Trees Across school in our Forest School sessions children are learning about tree identification. This week children in Year 1 have been choosing leaves to represent members of their family. Some children also identified the trees the leaves came from and labelled them.

Friday 4 September 2026 Year 5 Book Launch! This week, the children in Year 5 were introduced to our exciting new book, Beowulf! However, before revealing the title, the children became detectives and explored a series of mysterious clues hidden around the classroom.

Friday 4 September 2026 Year 4 Book Launch Year 4 had an exciting start to their new class text this week! The children became book detectives, searching the forest and field for mysterious clues.
