The School Day
How we organise the school day is reviewed regularly so that we can adapt our provision to meet the current needs of the school in respect of children’s progress.
Generally, the pattern of the day in KS1 & KS2 is organised with English and mathematics lessons in the morning and the other curriculum subjects in the afternoon.
Within Reception, there is a balance over the day of adult-led / initiated activity and child-led activity. As with other year groups, children are taught within whole classes, small groups and as individuals.
To support play times and lunch periods, there is a staggered schedule which ensures that children have space and time to play safely and successfully.
There will be variations to timings but the timetables provide a general schedule for Early Years, KS1 and KS2.
