Pupil Outcomes
In Year 6, reading, mathematics, and spelling, punctuation and grammar are assessed through national tests, whilst writing is assessed through Teacher Assessment. The national required standard is represented by children achieving 100 or more on a scaled score. Those children who achieve 110 or more are identified as working to a ‘High Standard’. Schools must publish the following information:
- the percentage of their pupils who achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths (combined)
- the percentage of their pupils who achieved a higher standard in reading, writing and maths (combined)
- their pupils’ average scaled score in:
- reading
- maths
The school is proud that the attainment of the children has continued to be in line with or above the national averages across the various measures. However, we are most proud that the children access their SATs without high levels of anxiety and with a confidence that they can simply do their best.
Our results are achieved in the context of accessing a full and enhanced curriculum which aims to prepare children for their start at secondary school.
It is also essential to understand that many of the children across the country who may not have met the national standard will likely have demonstrated significant progress, achieved through hard work and dedication, often when there are significant challenges for them.
