Perfect Place Value
In Maths, Year Two have been learning all about the value of a digit in a number.
The children were given a group of objects to count. However, it was very tricky as they weren't arranged in any group or order. The boys and girls put the objects into groups of ten so they could count them easily. They quickly realised that using this method allowed them to find the total by identifying the number of groups.
As an extra challenge, the children were given additional objects to count. Using the same method, the children sorted most of the objects into groups of ten and then counted how many ones were left over.
